I am Senior Research Fellow and Lecturer (docente) at the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Università della Svizzera Italiana. I am also teaching assistant and I have been lecturer for the Faculty of Informatics Engineering, at Politecnico di Milano Polo Regionale di Como. From 1998 to 2001 I was research collaborator at IDSIA Istituto Dalle Molle di Studi sull'Intelligenza Artificiale.

My research mainly focuses on Agents and Multiagent Systems, specifically on the semantics of Agent Communication Languages (ACL) and on modeling of Artificial Institutions for the specification of Open Interaction Systems. Other interests include Semantic Web Technology, Collaborative Systems, and Service Oriented Computing.

I am member of the Steering committee of COIN (Coordination, Organization, Institutions and Norms in agent systems) Workshop series.

I am a Substitute Member for Switzerland of the Management Committee of the COST Action IC0801 on Agreement Technologies.

I am a Member for Switzerland of the Management Committee of the COST Action IS1004 on WEBDATANET: web-based data-collection - methodological challenges, solutions and implementations.

I am beneficiary with professor Marco Colombetti of the project "Open Interaction Systems: An approach based on Artificial Institutions and Service Oriented Architecture with an application to electronic market places" granted by the Swiss National Science Foundation.

I am beneficiary of the project "Open Interaction Systems: an approach based on Artificial Institutions, Environments, and Institutional Spaces" granted by Hasler Foundation.

I am in the Program Committee of the following conferences:
